As part of South Australia’s Algal Bloom Summer Plan, beachgoers can now access daily updates on algal bloom conditions via the free Beachsafe app and website, helping them make informed decisions about where and when to swim.
The initiative includes visual inspections at 23 coastal locations, with reports detailing foam presence, water discoloration, and cleaning times—plus fresh beach photos. Backed by record Surf Life Saving patrols and ongoing beach activities, the plan aims to maintain public confidence and safety at the beach.
