Edithburgh Jetty is to receive a $550,000 upgrade thanks to funding from the Federal Government’s Growing Regions Program.
Upgrades will include a new staircase on the north side of the jetty replacing the current steps that have been closed since 2018. The steps will include platforms at various heights to allow divers and snorkellers of all abilities to access the water.
The new stairs will also feature an artificial reef structure that snorkellers and divers can watch develop over time.
Edithburgh Jetty is one of the most popular dive and snorkel spots in South Australia and is also regarded as one of the best shore based night dive sites in Australia.
