Indigenous Name Added to Julian Rocks

()

Julian Rocks, one of New South Wales best snorkelling and diving spots is one of the latest locations to adopt a dual Aboriginal name.

The Byron Bay attraction will now have Nguthunguli added to its title following an application by New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service.

The dual names are supported by the Bundjalung of Byron Bay Aboriginal Corporation and the Cape Byron Trust.

Nguthunguli/Julian Rocks features in several Dreaming stories of the Bundjalung people where the area is regarded as the Father of the World.
